Ceramic veneers

Veneers are made from IPS e.max ceramics of a thickness of 0.3 mm – 0.5mm and are adhesively bonded to the front surface of the tooth in order to improve aesthetics, and correct damaged teeth, their color or their position.
Since veneers are so thin, white and transclucent, they can perfectly imitate natural teeth.
Veneers are bonded to teeth adhesively, making them exceptional strong and durable, thus can be used on front and back teeth.

Veneers are used in cases with
- damaged or chipped teeth – minor or major damage that are of aesthetic or functional nature
- teeth discoloration – in severely discolored teeth where whitening cannot achieve satisfactory results
- spaced or crooked teeth –if the patient does not want to go through orthodontic treatment, minor orthodontic anomalies can fixed with veneers
The procedure begins with taking and impression and making a wax up to show how your future teeth will look, and to prevent excessive tooth preparation.
Then 0.3 to 0.5 mm of the tooth enamel is removed, another impression is taken which is sent to the dental laboratory where the veneers are made. The veneers are first tried in order to ensure proper fit and aesthetics. When both the dentist and patient are satisfied with the result, the veneers are adhesively cemented.
With regular check-ups, veneers can last a very long time, in some cases, even longer than dental crowns! The reason being that veneers are placed within the outer layer of the tooth (enamel), unlike crowns are placed within the inner layers of the tooth (dentin).
Regular follow-ups and cleanings are important factors that prolong a veneer’s long-term success.
